Sewing My Life Together

Getting Back Into The Habit

I am still at a ‘pause’ in my sewing. I have all the right reasons….It’s too hot up there, my MIL has been ill, I finished writing my paper on autism and submitted it, I am organizing my 45th high school reunion, but the truth is that I am swimming to nowhere. I do not have a project in mind that excites me, and while I did buy some clothing patterns for my African fabric, I am not thrilled about sewing clothing. I feel adrift. And then today in my email inbox, I found Linda Branch Dunn’s July 5 Blogspot post….which is titled, “Begin Anywhere”. Wow! And that is what I will do…..just started anywhere. Start and keep going. That will be my motto for this summer.

And I do have a question: I bought these lovely jewel-toned Robert Kaufman fat quarters on impulse one day, and then my friends gave me these lovely 5-inch squares. How do I go about planning a quilt with them?Jewel-toned5-inch squares
