Sewing My Life Together

Piece of Cake

Quilt detail3Well, my friend Jan has come through with a bang! A couple of weeks ago, I took my little “Piece of Cake” quilt with me on the Red Line (for those of you who don’t know, that’s our local subway system) a few stops outside of Boston to meet Jan, a long-arm quilter (See her site, “quiltify.com” for her blog and long arm services).  I was worried because my seams aren’t accurate and I was sure that would cause  many wrinkles when it got quilted….

But, although there is a TINY wrinkle in it, she did a perfectly beautiful job. I chose a loose pattern called “Leaf and Scroll” by Keryn Emerson (you can see samples of pattern’s on Jan’s web site), since the prints I used were so busy and colorful.

And it is gorgeous!

Next up is binding it. That will be fun!

I highly recommend Jan for long-arm quilting services.
