Well, with a little caution thrown in….
I am heading to Jo Ann’s this morning with two coupons: a 50% off one regular item and a 25% off total purchase…

What am I hoping to find? Fabric for a bag I want to make for a colleague for Christmas:

This bag requires heavier weight cotton than quilting fabric, and I did stop by my local discount fabric store (Sew-Low, on Cambridge Street in Cambridge) but since they only sell remnants and low-quality fabric on bolts, it is always hit and miss. A year ago I bought some really good black and white heavy-weight cotton and made several bags, but I ran out and they didn’t have it anymore.
Then, I am going to try a Craftsy class: Linear Landscapes.

I’ve purchased it but never have sat down to watch. I did print out the supplies list, and searched through my stash, but did not have the fabric I wanted. So today I hope to purchase many ‘landscape’ fabrics at a discount!
And next post: About my stash. It’s pretty awful.
And I did manage to piece almost all afternoon yesterday, but I am slow. The quilt I am making is 64 in x 92 in so it takes a while. And I make a lot of mistakes, even following my 1/4 in seam guide on my machine. Seams too big, too small….it is my signature mistake, I guess!
But you haven’t given up on piecing, right?
No, not at all…..I just like to keep busy doing different things…..
