A friend who was retiring from her librarian job after 18 years asked me if I wanted some fabric that she had found in her office. Of course I said “Yes”. Who would say no to free fabric?
So I went to her office to pick it up and I found two fabric sample books, one in somewhat vintage designs and one in more contemporary designs (such as purple paisley and strips). Each design comes in one piece that is 15.5 inches long by 12.5 inches wide. One design, one piece of fabric.
I’ve tried combinations of colors and shades, along with those patterns that are more modern than vintage. I like the above greens and yellows.
These are more traditional decorating fabrics, with flowers and fruit in varying colors: blues, reds, greens, yellows, and pinks.
So tonight I am spending time examining each piece of fabric, matching colors, hues, shades, and reviewing some books for ideas of things to make with these or ideas for how to sew them together.
Do any readers have any ideas about what to use these gifts of fabric for?
